The association got a surprising letter of appreciation from the Honourable Governor of Maharashtra, for their selfless humanitarian work carried out during 2020, the year of the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
Taloja/ Panvel / Navi Mumbai: The Taloja Manufacturers’ Association (TMA), was recently appreciated by the Honorable Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who sent out an expressive letter of appreciation for the humanitarian work carried out by the TMA and its member industries in the Taloja MIDC area, during a year-long coronavirus induced lockdown.
The letter of the Governor addressed to the Taloja Manufacturers’ Association reads out as follows:
“I place on record my deep appreciation of the commendable humanita rian work done by the Taloja Manufactu rers’ Association In collaboration with Its Member Industries In Taloja MIDC during the entire period of the Covld- 19 pandemic.
I was pleased to note that the Taloja Manufactu rers’ Association set up a dedicated Covid-19 centre in association with the Panvel Municipal Corporation and others. Activities of TMA such as d istribution of relief material to migra nts and daily wage workers, contribution of funds to PM Relief Fund and CM Relief Funds, donation of ambulance were timely and commendable.
I congratula te TMA and all its members Industries and individuals for their excellent humanitaria n work and wish them continued success in their future endeavou rs.”

For setting up a dedicated COVID -19 centre at Taloja MIDC Industrial area:
The Taloja Manufacturers’ Association (TMA) took responsibility of setting up a dedicated covid-19 centre in the vicinity of Taloja MIDC for the treatment of employees and their families.
TMA had volunteered noticing the lack of such a centre in the area and hence had collaborated with Panvel Municipal Corporation, in helping Venkatesh Hospital, set up a 100-bed covid-19 centre at the Taloja MIDC, which remains operational since the month of August, 2020.
For distributing Relief Materials to migrant workers and daily wage workers during the pandemic:
The Taloja manufacturers’ Association (TMA) had willingly taken up the responsibility of supporting many daily wage and migrant workers who had lost their income source during the lockdown.
TMA arranged for their basic needs, such as food etc. during the year-long lockdown. They honoured the appeal made by the Honrable Prime Minister of India, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra & the Taloja Police Station. The association had made an open appeal to all the member industries in the Taloja MIDC area, to come forward and contribute generously towards the noble cause of providing relief to the people affected by the covid-19 pandemic.
Through such effort, the TMA, with the contribution of all member industries have contributed relief amounting to Rs. 5,79,73,129/- in the following ways:
1) Distribution of 3659 Food Grain Packets worth Rs. 26,06,624 /- (including TMA’s contribution of Rs,50,000/-).
2) Contribution of Rs. 86,28,742/- to the Hon’b1e Prime Minister Relief Fund.
3) Contribution of Rs. 3,57,20,743/- to the Hon’b1e Chief Minister Relief Fund.
4) Donation of Four Ambulances, worth Rs. 24,89,816/-, to the Govt. of Maharashtra.
5) Donation of other Relief Materials such as Skan Fog ULV With Timer, Mask, Ventilators, Syringe Pumps, ABG Machine, PPE Kits, RO water filter Plant, Hand Sanitizer worth Rs. 1,07,90,020/- (also including ambulance cost).
The details of all the contributions was forwarded to the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Honorable Industries Minister, Honorable Collector, Raigad, & other Govt. Authorities.
Gladdened by the willing contribution made by the member industries of Taloja Manufacturers’ Association, the Honorable Governor sent the letter of appreciation, commending the efforts of the association.
The office bearers of TMA have thanked all member industries for their willing contribution towards the cause.
