MLA Prashant Thakur will raise voice in the assembly to get justice for ST employees

State Transport Corporation employees have started a statewide hunger strike. As a part of the same, Panvel bus depot S. T. Employees are also on strike. The ST Employees has taken the decision that the strike shall continue until the workers’ demands are met. BJP’s North Raigad district president MLA Prashant Thakur has met ST staff at Panvel bus depot and expressed his support to the Strikers. He also underlined that he would raise voice in the assembly for justice to the employees in this regard and also appealed to the state government not to harass the ST employees and passengers.

BJP office bearers including Panvel Municipal Corporation corporator Manoj Bhujbal, corporator Darshana Bhoir, labor leader Jitendra Gharat, Gopinath Munde, Chandrakant Manjule were present on the occasion.

A total of 305 employees are working in Panvel Depot. It includes drivers, conductors and vehicle repair workers. Due to this strike, the work of Panvel depot has come to a standstill. Passengers have been hit by this agitation. The Panvel city is a hub for transportation. There is always a big rush of passengers here as from Panvel bus depot buses leave for Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan and also towards the Hilly Konkan Range. The Depot Conductors, drivers and workshop workers have started a hunger strike. The Mahavikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra had made many promises to the people of the state. However, this Thackeray government failed on all fronts. The same has happened with ST staff and passengers. All the people are worried about the inaction of the Thackeray government. During this time, the ST employee has started committing suicide and his family is losing a lot of support, unfortunately the State Government is acting just like a spectator. Saying this, MLA Prashant Thakur protested against the inactive management of the state government. State Transport Minister Anil Parab has been tasked with taking the role of giving justice to the employees but he is threatening action if the employees do not return to work, without ensuring justice to the strikers. This role of unjust of the state government is receiving reaction from across the state.
