CIDCO conducts demolition drive at Karave, Nerul

As per Hon. High Court’s Order in PIL No.138 of 2012, the Court has issued directives to demolish all illegal structures, which are not protected by rules & regulations, policy of CIDCO or State Govt. of Maharashtra and submit the report to Court. Accordingly, under the guidance of Kishan Jawale, Additional Collector (Sel. Grade) and CCUC, CUC (North) arranged the demolition drive at Karave, Nerul on 14 May, 2019 in Thane District of Navi Mumbai.
During the drive two unauthorised on going constructions of G + 4 RCC constructed on an area of approximately 65 sq. m. and 153 sq. m. were demolished at Survey No. 233 and 2, Sector- 36, behind the Shankar temple, Karave, Nerul.
The above mentioned encroachments-unauthorised constructions were constructed without taking any permission and by violating the prevalent regulations and policy of CIDCO. In spite of notices issued to the said constructions under the MRTP Act the developers continued building and so, the constructions were demolished by following the due process of law.
The demolition drive was carried out successfully with the help of 15 police personnel and officials of Nerul NRI Police Station. The demolition drive was conducted under the guidance of P. B. Rajput, CUC (N), Sunil Tambe, Asst. CUC (N-3) and Deepak Harwande, Asst. Nominated Officer (Nerul). CIDCO’s police team, security guards and MSF staff were also present during the demolition drive. While carrying the demolition drive 20 labours were employed and the machinery used was 4 hand breakers, 1 JCB, 1 truck and 1 towing van.
