Need to Educate about Fake and Mistrust Publishing
Navi Mumbai: It is much frustrating when you know your efforts are in vain as your research paper and articles published in a predatory journal. In the era of forged, mistrust, fraud and fear it is an uphill task to identify which journal and periodical is genuine and which are counterfeit.
Over the years predatory publishing has gained momentum and academic publishing evolved as a business model that involves charging publication fees to authors without checking articles for quality and legitimacy.
To provide a genuine insight on this burning issue the Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management Studies and Research (BVIMSR) has organized a webinar cum workshop which is scheduled on August 21, 2021 (Saturday) between 10:30 and 13:30 hours.
The key speaker for this program is well renowned Dr Sumit Narula who is Deputy Dean Research (Publications and Citations) at Amity University Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. He has done his Ph.D. in Electronic Media and Conflict Resolution.
The core areas for his research are New Media, Convergence Media, Media Research in Print Media, Electronic Media, Fake News Detection, Peace Building, and conflict Resolution etc. He is also the Chairman of the recently established Centre of Excellence for Detection of Fake News and Disinformation at AUMP.
Prof. S. S. Ranjan, Dr. Uma Durgude, and Prof. Sameer Sonawane are the coordinators for this RDP.
