Considering the poor and filthy condition of sector 14, the MLA has extended Rs 10 lakh from his fund for the growth and development of the vicinity. The announcement was made by the MLA Sandeep Naik during his recent visit to the ward.
MLA Sandeep Naik recently visited ward number 49, which gave the residents the opportunity to directly meet the MLA and express their woes. Corporator Shilpa More, as the representative of the residents says, “Sector 14 comes under ward number 49 and this is one of the ignored wards of Navi Mumbai. Neither a community center nor a senior citizen day care center is available here. There is also the need of redeveloping the roads, the drainage line and the jogging track. There is also a need to develop a police chowky to ensure safety of residents. The worst part is what the Maharashtra Stated Electricity Distribution Company is doing. There is demand from many residents to install new meters, new cable lines and to close down the entire feeder boxes.”
Responding to problems of the residents, MLA Sandeep Naik says, “First, I will try to resolve the electrical problem by organising a meet with MSEDC official and ask them to take appropriate actions, which will also include the under grounding of the over head wires, etc. “Considering the need of the further development of the region, Naik announced Rs 10 lakh from his fund. Naik further said, “Roads and footpaths are found dig and left unfilled by the various government and private bodies including, NMMC, MSEDC, MTNL, etc. Thus, leading to water blogging at the corners of the road where such digs are not filled.”
