Goldcrest High school in Vashi celebrated its 2nd annual concert in a unique way. The school, with its ethos of developing culture and values in children through holistic education, has dedicated this year to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on his 150th birth anniversary.
All through the year, the school has woven in teachings of Tagore through activities and lessons. The annual concert, which included the enactment of Tagore’s dance drama ‘Chandalika’ as well as the recital of his poem ‘Where the mind is without fear”, was a culmination of that homage.
Dr Indu Shahani, Sheriff of Mumbai and Principal of H R College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai, was the chief guest at the function.Aditi Deshmukh, CEO Manjara Charitable Trust, said, “Rabindranath Tagore was an educationist who was a pioneer and visionary. His philosophies on education are today being acknowledged globally.”
