Over the years the residents of Palm Beach Road, Sanpada have been demanding a garden, where they can have a walk in the open. Of late, the Navi Mumbai municipal Corporation has finally given a green signal for the development of a garden in the area. However, the concern citizens allege that it would be tough as the garden plot has now turned into a playground.
Dashrath Bhagat, the local Corporator says, “Palm Beach Road is along the Sanpada Sector 13 and 14 and hence the residents used to go for jogging and walking on this speedy road that has taken many lives. The residents were forced to take risk due to lack of garden and jogging track. For many years, we the residents were demanding for the garden. Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has finally drafted a proposal of developing a garden on the corner of the Plam Beach Road in Sector 13, Sanpada. This will give a sigh of relief to each every resident of the in and around sectors.”
One of the concern citizens expressed that the earmarked land was the plot used over the years by the exhibitors of Navi Mumbai as well as outsiders. They had even cut the trees and the land has been flattened by these event organisers so many times. So, it would be a tough time for the gardener to bring greenery. However, the proposed garden would be a boon to the residents.
One of the garden department official says, “It was only on October 2010, the land was transferred in the name of NMMC. As it is the only allocated garden for the residents, it will be designed to cater to the need of every citizens of the society. However, the administration process will take another three months and the garden will be ready before the end of the year.”
