But due to lack of interest of State the issue was ignored. However at that moment the Panvel was just a Municipal Council and hardly had revenue for such a big concern. But now the situation has changed. After becoming a Municipal Corporation the revenue has gone high and its time it can think about the poor people who from years are lacking basic amenities.

One of the social worker Raju V working with these section of the society said, “Due to the lack of basic civic services the threat of illness of children, women and senior citizens has been rising in these slum regions from years. On other hand this becomes direct and indirect violation of human rights as per the guidelines of United Nation and the Constitution of India.”

The past Commissioner Sudhakar Shinde was not able to do anything for the Slum and so the only ray of hope for these slum dwellers is the new Commissioner Ganesh Deshmukh.
